Brandy Mimms Movement is more than a brand—it is a movement built through dance, purpose, and lived experience.

I am Brandy Mimms,  also known as Unique the Deaf Dancer. My work is rooted in the belief that movement is a language and dance is a powerful tool for connection, storytelling, and change. I create in ways that honor difference, amplify underrepresented voices, and redefine what is possible in the dance world.

This brand represents everything I do—choreography, performance, dance education, advocacy, and community building. It reflects my commitment to creating work that is meaningful, inclusive, and deeply expressive.

Creativity

Creativity is at the heart of my work.
I choreograph stories, emotions, and experiences that speak without sound. Through movement, I explore identity, resilience, and human connection. Creativity allows me to imagine new possibilities and bring them to life through dance.

Access

Access is not optional—it is essential.
Brandy Mimms Movement is built on the belief that dance belongs to everyone, including Deaf, DeafBlind, disabled, and hearing communities. I intentionally create accessible spaces, teaching methods, and performances that remove barriers and invite full participation.

I don’t wait for access to be given—I create it.

Expression

Expression is freedom.
My movement speaks truth. My body communicates what words cannot. Through dance, I encourage others to express themselves fully, authentically, and without apology. Expression is how we are seen, understood, and valued.

What I do

This movement lives through:

  • Choreography and performance

  • Dance education (K–12, higher education, and community-based)

  • Artistic advocacy

  • Community engagement and mentorship

Every project I create is guided by purpose, intention, and impact.

This work is bigger than me. It is about creating space, opening doors, and moving forward together.
